Retirement in Thailand.

As we are all far too aware of, the world economy is fast changing. what was once affordable for us in terms of retirement, in particular, retiring in our native country, may fast be entering the realm of unaffordable as we approach our “Golden Years”. As unfortunate as this may seem, it is becoming a reality. Want proof? Just turn on the local news, or pick up the daily paper. It is affecting many of those that have reached, or about to reach the decision making time as retirement looms closer and closer with each and every passing day.

You are probably asking yourself if there is a solution to this dilemma? There is!, and it's very simple in really. You do as so many before you have done, relocate to an affordable country offering not only a very comfortable and modern way of life, but one that offers another item of great importance to retiree's, peace of mind and security.

Most of us are all too familiar with the great exodus of American citizens to countries south of the U.S. border. Many retiree's have found happiness in places like Costa Rica, Guatemala, Belize and Mexico. In fact it is estimated that there are over 60,000 US citizens living out their retirement years in Mexico alone. But is this the place you want to retire? With all that is going on in the country with the cartels? Is this a place you want to live your Golden Years?

I don’t think so.

Now you may ask,
" What about  Costa Rica Heard a lot about that place"
.
Beautiful I'll give you that. But in reality the cost of living the cost of living has risen drastically over the last two decades because of this influx of retiree's from other nations…
....nope, don’t want to retire there as well.

What about Spain, Portugal, Italy, France ?
Many thousands of Scandinavians and other Europeans over the years have retired to these countries. In particular Spain and Portugal. Beautiful areas to spend those golden years  right?

Wrong!

Due to the increase in the Euro over the last few years these areas have seen a tremendous drop in the influx of retiree's from other nations.

"So what's left?" you ask.

where are a great many retiree's from Scandinavia, the U.K., France, Australia, Russia, Japan, the USA , deciding to invest their retirement dollars and live in an extremely secure and friendly environment?

The answer is once again very simple, Thailand!

Each and every passing year sees an increase in the numbers of retiree’s coming to live in the security and beauty of this great country.

Thailand, "The Land of Smiles" offers everything you will need in the way of a very happy, secure and affordable retirement.

One of the most important questions that most retirees ask is,
" What about the availability of quality, affordable medical care, both routine and emergency"

The answer;
There are well over 450 hospitals offering a multitude of services. You will find everything from dental care, advanced cardiac care and cosmetic surgery all under one roof. The physicians and specialist at the majority of these facilities are not only extremely well educated and knowledgeable in their particular area of medicine; many of them obtaining their specialties at facilities in the USA and the UK, but the majority are bi-lingual. Thailand has 12 very modern end well known medical schools as well

Due to the availability of high quality and affordable health care, Thailand has become one of the foremost countries in the world for medical tourism.

Thailand is rapidly becoming a strong economic hub in Asia as well. Many foreign companies are locating factories within the country and many more are looking to invest in the country in the years ahead.

The standard of living is excellent, yet the cost of living is low. You can take the entire family out for dinner, have a very filling ,good meal and spend less than twenty US dollars. Or you can elect to spend the day playing golf at one of dozens of well designed and maintained golf courses around the country.

You can spend hours during the day or evening browsing through one of the very modern shopping malls, or wandering through the hundreds of open air markets and bazaars where you will find any and all varieties of hand-made articles of clothing, furniture and decorations for your home or to send to loved ones as gift’s. And all at a fraction of the cost you would buy the same or comparable items in your home country.

As far as entertainment goes, you will find everything from modern multi-screen cinemas playing all the current releases, to concerts by some of the top internationally known singers and performers that visit Thailand to perform each year. Not to mention the numerous music and dance festivals throughout the land.

The simple fact is we work hard our entire life. We raise our families and put money in retirement funds, savings, and any number of employer’s retirement accounts with the great expectation of one day sitting back  enjoying our golden years.
Unfortunately when that time finally arrives, all to often we find that even though we saved and planned all our lives for this day, too many of us do not have enough to get us by. So much to our utter disappointment, we find ourselves with no other choice but get back to work to help ends meet.
